Encaustic Painting For Beginners

This beginners workshop is for those who are curious about encaustic painting and want to learn the process.

In this class I cover a brief history of this ancient medium, and what equipment is needed. You will be shown how to layer and fuse the wax onto a pre-primed board using a heat gun. Then you will create your own small piece of original encaustic art.

I will also show you a couple of basic ways you can add even more dimension to your work; using metal tools to incise the piece and how to use oil paint to enhance the look of your work.
